A1.1

The Basics of French (In-person/JULY)

Are you looking to refresh your French skills? Do you want a crash course of the basics before diving into another series? This class is for you! We will be covering the basics of French starting from the very beginning. This course is for absolute beginners looking for a quick and intensive introduction to the French language.

Level: Absolute Beginners

A1.2 Fast-Track with Elsa (In-person)

Regular Courses

This class is for students looking to build a foundation in the French language. Classes are progressive. Absolute beginners work their way up from A1.1 progressing through to A1.6. After A1, students move on to A2, to B1, to B2, etc.

This 6-week class meets bi-weekly, in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm-8pm. Classes begin Tuesday, June 11th and conclude Thursday, July 18th. This “fast-track” class condenses a typical 12-week semester into just 6-weeks, working at an accelerated pace. Students will use the Alter-Ego text-book, beginning on page 48.

French Conversation (Zoom/AUGUST)

Looking for an informal class focused on building confidence with French conversation? Learn new vocabulary while an instructor uses guided questions to get you talking. Flash reviews of grammar and tenses where needed.

Parlons Français: Cuisine et l'art de s'exprimer (In-person/JUNE)

Regular Courses

In this 4-week class, students will learn:

1. L'art de s'exprimer: we learn to express opinions, feelings and preferences.

2. Cuisiner avec amour: we will learn essential culinary vocabulary and classic French dishes, narrating the cooking journey in French.

Each class will follow this structure: Intro (10 mins); Review of new vocabulary and phrases (15 mins); Student practice/role-play (50 mins); Final discussions/feedback (15 mins).

Taking on Le Passé Composé (In-person/AUGUST)

In this course we will be tackling the French past tense (Le Passé Composé) and mastering its structure and use. This course is open to anyone who would like to refresh their grammar or who wants to delve into a new topic to express themselves en français! 

Level: Advanced Beginner/Intermediate

Figuring out those pesky pronouns! (Zoom/JUNE)

Are you at a point that you've got the basics of grammar down, but you might be struggling to make sense of the reflexive pronouns (Je me lave les mains), direct and indirect pronouns (Je la lui donne), interrogative and demonstrative pronouns (Tu aimes lequel? Celui?), as well as relative pronouns (ce que, ce qui)? Or just need a quick refresher on the grammar? Then this is the course for you! Painless and fun, we will conquer those pesky pronouns together!

  • Week 6: Futur antérieur
